Jacks Falls Pinot Noir 2022

Tasting Notes
Our 2022 Jacks Falls Pinot Noir reveals perfume notes of dark cherry, crushed violets and clove from the Abel clone while the Pommard clone provided great structure and length. On the palate there is cherry and crushed roses blended with toasty oak and fine tannins.
Vinification
This parcel of old vine Pinot Noir grapes was hand-selected and gently destemmed without crushing into open-top fermenters. Ferments started wild and were then hand plunged. The skins were gently pressed and the wine racked to French barriques for maturation on less with minimal handling.

2022 Vintage
Our 2022 vintage saw the pinot vines crop low. This parcel of fruit was hand picked on the 8th of March and delivered a beautifully balanced wine.

"It's seductively expressed on the nose showing dark berry, dried herb, smoked game and roasted nut characters, followed by a concentrated palate displaying silky flow and fleshy texture. Vineyard
22 ACRES OF MATURE VINES
Gioiello Estate's vineyard is located within the Yea Valley on the Goulburn River, on the lower reaches of 651 metre high Mt Concord. Our 22 acres of mature vines were planted on north facing slopes between 1987 and 1992.
