Tasting Notes
Our 2022 cool-climate Syrah offers warm spice perfume and on the palate experience rich red fruits and spice with excellent structure and intensity.
Vinification
Shiraz grapes are handpicked, de-stemmed and crushed into open-top fermenters. The wine is gently pressed and matured in French oak barriques for 18 months.

2022 Vintage
Spring rain impacted the flowering season resulting in lower yields but high quality grapes. A mild summer extended the ripening season.
Wine Reviews
"The colour is a deep magenta with a purple/crimson rim. This is a touch more rustic than some in the range, and also from what we have seen from earlier vintages, offering herbal characteristics with mushrooms, plums, leaf litter, raspberries and smoked meats. Quite a savoury style. In time, notes of warm earth emerge. There is a supple texture here, through to fine tannins on a medium length finish. For drinking over the next six to eight years".

22 ACRES OF MATURE VINES
Gioiello Estate's vineyard is located within the Yea Valley on the Goulburn River, on the lower reaches of 651 metre high Mt Concord. Our 22 acres of mature vines were planted on north facing slopes between 1987 and 1992.
