Tasting Notes
Our 2019 Old House Merlot exhibits perfumes of bramble fruits and crushed violets. On the palate rich layering of plums and savoury tapenade integrates perfectly with warm spice.
Vinification
Merlot grapes are handpicked, de-stemmed and crushed into open-top fermenters. The wine is gently pressed and matured in French oak barriques for 18 months.

2019 Vintage
Our 2019 vintage saw warm and dry conditions across the property but the vineyard thrived. We had a harvest date for this parcel of fruit on the 5th of March.
Wine Reviews
" Always encouraging to see a straight Merlot stand up and reveal just what the grape can do on its own, rather than just one more blending component. A dark garnet hue. This has notes of roast meats, florals, plums, tobacco leaves, warm earth and spices. It then lifts even further on the palate where there is energy, fine length and good persistence. Really like the palate. Good balance, concentration and ever so silky tannins. This will drink well for the next six to eight years".

"From the Upper Goulburn region, the grapes were de-stemmed and crushed into open top fermenters, before a gentle pressing into French oak for maturations for 18 months. One-third of the barrels were new. Displaying more fruit purity and vibrancy than the 2018. It's a fragrant wine of spices and plums with a little blue fruit complexity. Fine chalky tannins overlay the palate with its deep and intense fruit flavours. A slightly firmer wine than the 2018. Cellar 9 years".
