Tasting Notes
Our cool-climate Mt Concord Syrah offers a perfume of spiced berries. On the palate, French oak supports blueberry and spiced cherry fruit flavours.
Vinification
Shiraz grapes are hand-picked, destemmed and crushed into open-top fermenters. The wine is gently pressed and matured in French oak barriques for 18 months.

Wine Reviews
"Hand-picked, destemmed and crushed into open-top fermenters. Matured for 18 months in French oak barriques. The grapes hail from the lower reaches of Mount Concord at 651m elevation in the Yea Valley. A wine to impress with its depth of fruit and elegant expression of place. Intended for a long run in the cellar, it's already exuding a developing complexity. Dark plum, black cherry, leather and sweet oak spice aromas. Fine and layered with long, ripe tannins. Open later rather than sooner."

"The grapes hail from the the lower reaches of Mount Concord, an elevation of 650 meters. They were hand-harvested, destemmed and crushed into open-top fermenters, before a gentle pressing and then maturation in French oak barriques for 18 months, 40% of which were new. Deep maroon hue. There is good concentration on the nose, with dark fruits, boysenberries, animal hides, leather, mushrooms, coffee grinds, chocolate and cherries. Seamless with good acidity and fine balance, this is a wine of medium length. Fine tannins, enjoy this over the next four to six years and more. A fine example of a cooler climate Syrah".
