Estate Syrah 2021

Tasting Notes
Our 2021 Estate Syrah offers aromatics of berries and warm spice. On the palate enjoy mixed berries and spicy oak characteristics with lifted red fruit flavours blended with pepper and spice.
Vinification
Shiraz grapes are handpicked, de-stemmed and crushed into open-top fermenters. The wine is gently pressed and matured in French oak barriques for 18 months.

2021 Vintage
2021 was a mild and sunny season with good rainfall at key times, resulting in healthy vines, an excellent ripening season, great flavour development and balanced acids. This parcel of Syrah was picked on the 16th of March.

" This may not sit on the same level as the Mt Concord Syrah the team offer but at the moment, it is the value wine of the collection. Drinking beautifully. Time should see the Mt Concord take its position as their premium Syrah but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy this along the way. Deep maroon in colour, the nose is appealingly fragrant with notes of leather, spices, aniseed, red fruits and leaf litter. A sleek texture and good direction, the wine is well balanced with decent length, finishing with satiny tannins. Still fresh and energetic, we see more red fruits emerge on the palate. For enjoying over the next six to ten years".

22 ACRES OF MATURE VINES
Gioiello Estate's vineyard is located within the Yea Valley on the Goulburn River, on the lower reaches of 651 metre high Mt Concord. Our 22 acres of mature vines were planted on north facing slopes between 1987 and 1992.
