Tasting Notes
The 2017 Estate Syrah offers perfume notes of mulberries and toasty oak. On the palate flavours of red berries and savoury spice integrate with oak characteristics.
The 2018 Estate Syrah offers perfume notes of lifted spices and blueberries. On the palate, red berries integrate beautifully with mixed spice.
The 2014 Mt Concord Syrah offers a perfume of rich dark plums with savoury elements from French oak. The concentrated palate reveals cassis and spices interwoven with liquorice. This cool climate syrah offers mouth-filling texture and structured tannins.
The 2015 Mt Concord Syrah offers a perfume of blueberry, violet and clove. On the palate, concentrated flavours of blueberry, clove and black olive are integrated with structured tannins.
The 2016 Mt Concord Syrah offers a perfume of spicy plums with toasty oak characters. The palate is textural and mouth-filling with flavours of plum, chocolate and clove.
The 2018 Mt Concord Syrah offers a perfume of spiced berries. On the palate French oak supports blueberry and spiced cherry fruit flavours.
Vinification
The Estate Syrah grapes are handpicked, de-stemmed and crushed into open-top fermenters. The wine is then gently pressed and matured in French oak barriques for 18 months.
The Mt Concord Syrah grapes are selected from the Mt Concord block are handpicked, de-stemmed and crushed into open-top fermenters. The wine is then gently pressed and matured in French oak barriques for 18 months.
Vintage
The 2017 Estate Syrah vintage brought stable and pleasant conditions across the vineyard allowing for perfect bud burst and fruit set. This parcel of Shiraz grapes was harvested on the 4th of March.
The 2018 Estate Syrah vintage saw some early season humidity but concluded with a warm and dry summer resulting in an earlier harvest date for this parcel of fruit on the 4th of March.
The 2014 Mt Concord Syrah vintage saw mild and warm conditions allowing for even ripening and a slightly earlier harvest. The vintage proved to be low yielding resulting in high quality and flavour concentrated grapes.
The 2015 Mt Concord Syrah saw warm weather arrive early in spring bringing earlier than expected bud burst. No disease pressures were evident or extreme heat events just warm sunshine. This vintage saw low yields resulting in very concentrated flavourful wines
The 2016 Mt Concord Syrah vintage brought very stable and pleasant conditions across the vineyard allowing for a perfect budburst and fruit set. This parcel of Shiraz grapes was harvested on the 19th of March.

Deliveries are made via Australia Post. Standard delivery times to all major cities is approximately 4-5 business days.
Vineyard
22 ACRES OF MATURE VINES
Gioiello Estate's vineyard is located within the Yea Valley on the Goulburn River, on the lower reaches of 651 metre high Mt Concord. Our 22 acres of mature vines were planted on north facing slopes between 1987 and 1992.
