Old Hill Chardonnay 2018

Tasting Notes
Our 2018 Old Hill Chardonnay exhibits aromatics of brioche and cashews. On the palate, excellent structure and length are complemented by brioche, citrus and hints of white peach.
Vinification
The Old Hill block chardonnay grapes were hand-picked and fermented in French oak barriques using wild yeast and left to mature on lees for eight months.

2018 Vintage
The 2018 vintage saw some early season humid conditions but ended with a warm and dry summer resulting in an earlier than usual harvest date of the 21st of February.

Vineyard
22 ACRES OF MATURE VINES
Gioiello Estate's vineyard is located within the Yea Valley on the Goulburn River, on the lower reaches of 651 metre high Mt Concord. Our 22 acres of mature vines were planted on north facing slopes between 1987 and 1992.
